A Little Manny Update

This little imp is such a sweet boy who knows how to share, give kisses like they’re free, and is growing up ever so quickly.

Manfred, playing with 姨’s blankie and knowing how to turn on her clock radio

2 more months to 2 years! Oh goodness. Time flies!

And soon, he’ll be talking non-stop… :P

It’s time for a mid-year review (man, this sounds like work!), and what better time to do it but now? :)

I haven’t been reflecting much these days (note the very short and crisp posts of late)… or rather I choose not to reflect and delve too deep into things; capturing those special moments with beautiful pictures suffice to tell a long story short.

So. Here goes.

Her Conversations with Children

(from her.)

权权, 2++ years old

I’ve asked him, “权权, do you want daddy to carry you?”

Head shook.

“How about mummy?”

Head shook.

“Uncle? You want Uncle to carry you?”

Head shook.

And that’s how I ended up with an aching right arm carrying a 15kg-boy who didn’t want to let me go.

And he brawled when he came out from the toilet and found that I wasn’t there when I had told him that I would go back to his house with him (we were  just around the corner trying to top up the cashcard, and he had to change his diaper in the toilet).

Bethy, 3 years and 6 months old

She looked at me shyly and said, “Hi Auntie fireflower”, a smile slowly creeping across her face.

“Do you want to do with me?” (work on her book with Math and English stuff in it, that’s what.)

“Sure Bethy!”

She went on to finish a page. “Now can put gold star.” *searches for the page containing gold star stickers so that she could stick it on the completed page*

“Ok you need to go drink milk milk now, then Uncle A and Auntie fireflower are going off,” her mother said.

“Auntie fireflower, will I see you later?”

“Yes you will.”

“Really?”

“Yes, girl. Go drink your milk milk now.”

Manny, 1 year and 5 months old

“Man-man fred, hello!”

“Hi!” *waves*

“Man-man fred, what’s this?” *points to a car*

“Car car!”

“Man-man fred, can you say ‘papa’”?

“Pa pa!” *high pitch then low pitch*

“Can you sayang 姨姨?”

*knocks his head against mine*

“Bye bye!” *waves”

童真,儿童的真心。

It was a mad house yesterday at my aunt’s place, with all my nephews and nieces (my cousins’ kids and Manny) creating a havoc like no one’s business.

Top left: Ethan; bottom left: Ethan, Ashleigh, Sean; middle: Jia taking a photo of Manny; right: Ashleigh the pretty princess

Sean has just entered my primary school because he got into the GEP (good job!) and he told me he had difficulties singing our school song because it was too fast. Haha. Exact sentiments dude!

Ashleigh has grown bigger now and is bespectacled! But she didn’t seem to mind wearing them, and she has become less shy this year :)

Ethan is a terror (maybe it’s true, what they say about “terrible twos”), but an independent one. He seems to be able to amuse himself without his siblings (and has this great fascination with balls), but joins in whenever they are having fun.

Jia has this new fascination of taking photos – up close and personal. She’s very talkative too, except that she doesn’t like it when my mom wants to hug her…

And of course Manny. He’s just grown so cute, hor? :D

Having fun with balls (what’s with balls and kids?), watching his older cousins from afar

Ang pao money has decreased tremendously this year, but we won money (again) at mahjong! Hehe :) A last minute 五台 really saved the day.

Well off to collect more ang pao (and hopefully more money)! :P

It’s been one crazy year, for everyone in this household.

I know I should have loved you a bit more. I know I should have played with you a while longer.

But it’s been one crazy year, for me as well.

And I’m sorry that I couldn’t cope; I couldn’t cope with my own life and you.

But anyways.

It’s been one crazy but wonderful year with you.

Happy birthday, Man-man-fred :)

姨姨 is going out now to buy you your present ok? :)

(this photo was taken at the end of June; really outdated, but honestly he still looks just as cute.)

Addendum: I didn’t manage to get him anything. Sigh.

Hang in there, everybody.

If Manny can, so can YOU! :D

Go touch a leaf today. Make it happy.

Sweat it out. Get those endorphins pumping.

Staring at the pond may help at times.

Just smile. (:

Change, The Only Constant

I ate alone today for lunch.

It’s been a while, just being by myself and sipping my Coke. The addiction is getting bad. I used to not drink so much of it, but lately for almost every meal I would order a Coke to get those caffeine into my brain, to start up my inner engine.

Unfortunately, or fortunately, caffeine has near little or perhaps no stimulating effect on me. Instead, it casts a sleep spell on me, and my eyes feel heavier after consumption.

Manny Updates

I’m trying to get my hair dry now and so I’ll do a short update on my little nephew who will turn 4 months old soon :)

Manny has grown quite a bit since I left for India, and he’s becoming SO PLAYFUL these days! He simply can’t keep still until he has his milk, ENJOYS laughing and playing A LOT, and cries in a “I’m damn pathetic” tone to get whatever he wants. He has also been really observant, is able to support his head just a little and turns his head to look in whichever direction he wants, knows how to turn a little and is slowly learning how to grab things.

How exciting to watch a baby grow day by day. Bought him this really cute red outfit from Disney just for the CNY!

Did I manage that he LOVES to drool? Carrying him will result in your forearm being covered in drool in like… less than 1 minute.

My nephew is turning into a drooly handsome rascal :P

Will try to take more photos of him as soon as I can! He’s growing to be cuter as the days go by :)

满月 – Part Two

(This is SO OUTDATED and soon Manny would be 2 months old, but oh well I guess it never hurts to see pictures of children :) )

13 October was madness because there were SO MANY people, and everywhere I looked it was just KIDS KIDS and MORE KIDS. Haha. Yes, you can imagine how excited I was. My nephews and nieces (my cousins’ kids) came, and ahhhhhh they are so adorable… :D Saw my cousin’s third kid who has grown so big for a 9-month old, my other cousin’s daughter who has become such a doll (although she still refused to be carried by anyone else besides her own family), and my sister’s friend’s daughter who was SO LOVELY; her eyes were like so huge and she looked really like a doll… *melts*

My sister’s friend said that the amount of maternal instinct oozing from me was disgusting. Haha. Seriously, I can’t help it! I just so enjoy making them laugh, making them happy, making sure that they dun bump their heads, fall down, get too dirty… the list can go on and on.

So let the pictures do the talking instead!

It’s been one month.

And I wonder if you ever know how much I so so so so adore you, and that I’m spending more time at home because of you. :)

I remember the first time I heard this song, I melted straightaway and I knew that this was the song for him.

Happy one month, Manfred. Many more months ahead! :)

Manny

It’s funny how when things happen
And it changes your whole point of view
Everything that seemed to matter gets cast aside for a better truth

You’re growing faster with every minute, second, photograph
I wish I could spend more time with you
My little nephew

Everyday’s a new discovery
I’m a child again, looking through your eyes
With every step you’re teaching me
How to fall, cry, get up and smile

You’re growing faster with every minute, second, photograph
I wish I could spend more time with you
My little nephew

Bur you’re far away and I’m over here
Memories are lost in the span of years, so
When I go will you miss me?
When I go will you remember me?

You’re growing faster with every minute, second, photograph
I wish I could spend more time with you
See you learn to tie your shoes, say the sky is blue
And that your best friend is Winnie the Pooh
My little nephew

Part Two will come when I get the pictures is here!

And to celebrate his one month, I have set up a category just for him! :D
