bittersweet solitude of a fireflower

It was a nice boogie woogie Teachers’ Day celebration, and I have, again, made a fool out of myself.

By dressing up as a student and dancing on stage with my partner-in-crime.

Good job! my colleagues teased me.

To me, it was just all about having fun. I just wanna enjoy the moment, and not care less about anything else.

Having the right attitude, is very important.

Received tons of brownies/chocs/cookies/biscuits which I doubt I can ever finish (like, seriously).

Thank you so much for spoiling me, so much so that my diet plan might be ruined because of all of you.

Received lots of lovely cards, and I loved the ones made from my form class, various students I had taught before, and my Sec 4s.

Thank you so much for loving me, using your sincere words to warm my heart, to encourage me when I feel like I’m fighting a losing battle, to let me know that you do care.

This HUGE report book I had from them.

Thank you so much. I’m glad to have been your form teacher too.

That lovely HUGE purple lily bouquet from them.

Thank you so much. I’m glad to have inspired you. All 10 of you. I’ve always believed in you.

My favourite red pen (yes, I do have a preference)!

Thank you so much. I’m heartened to have known you. Thank you for listening, and remembering.

The number of bags I had to carry home

Spent the past hour trying to sort things out.

Perishables, non-perishables, stuff-to-bring-back-to-school-to-use, sources of inspiration.

I guess anyone of us would agree that having sources of inspiration beats having more glucose in our bloodstream.

But perhaps the child doesn’t know, and we need to enlighten.

Oh well. It’s ok.

After all, it’s the thought that counts :)

Happy Teachers’ Day :)
