It’s time for a mid-year review (man, this sounds like work!), and what better time to do it but now? :)

I haven’t been reflecting much these days (note the very short and crisp posts of late)… or rather I choose not to reflect and delve too deep into things; capturing those special moments with beautiful pictures suffice to tell a long story short.

So. Here goes.

Work

1. To do a better job in teaching

Well so far…… I think I’m trying very hard to improve myself. I do a lot of self-talk after each lesson, and it does show when I attempt to teach in a way that better aids the understanding. So I shall continue this good practice :)

2. To do a good job in handling CCA

I’m done with UG 1, but I still show my support every now and then because, well, I love my colleagues doing UG 1! :D I learnt a lot about being in UG 2 at the same time, with tons of learning opportunities waiting for me to seize. I do try my best in everything I do, but there’s still a lot more to learn. I miss my Sec 4s who have just stepped down already :( looking forward to working with the new government, as well as be a true-blue teacher-in-charge come end October!

3. To continue to learn from my colleagues/mentors, as well as be a good colleague

I’m learning a lot from them. It is through them that I have learnt the need to control my emotions in front of my students (I cried in front of them la…), that I need to learn to have to erect a “barrier” between myself and them… and I hope that I can continue to stay as professional as I can and do my work well. So far I think I’m ok, but well 初生之犊不怕虎, so I kinda need to curb that in me…

4. To better myself in terms of form class management

My form class is super happening, with lots of issues going on. But I’m quite glad that they seem to be improving in terms of intra-interaction, although I’m not so sure about them coping with working with each other in project groups :| hope the next few remaining months with them will be good, and that they will try to continue to love each other, work together and have fun learning with and from each other.

Life

1. To continue to be a good daughter, sister, aunt

Good aunt – checked; Manny is so cute now! He now knows how to suck up to people by kissing them with a loud MUACK. Haha. His speech ability is not as fantastic as his walking, but well I guess he’ll get there :)

Good sister – erm, I’m trying?

Good daughter – erm, really trying. I think my mother is quite concerned about my, erm, love life. But well she’s a mom so I guess it’s normal? She is getting a bit too overbearing so I’m not quite sure how things are going to work out, but I know they will.

2. To meet up with friends more regularly

Uh oh. This is jia lat times 10. I haven’t been meeting up with anyone at all. :( Work life is shitty la, especially work life like mine because I have to wake up early and sleepy early, and honestly I don’t have the kinda energy I used to have anymore. Sigh. I’ll try k??? It’s the holidays now, so hopefully that will translate to more opportunities to meet up.

3. To continue to be his best friend…

Well, there were ups and downs, but I love how we can resolve our downs into ups.

4. To be a better person (again)

As I was telling my colleague, I’m currently trying to watch my calorie intake, but to no avail :( I’ve put on some weight, and I’m trying very hard to shed them by eating less and exercising more. But well with all comes more nua-ing as well, so… hahaha.

5. To travel to somewhere

Screw the H1N1 la. Because of it I couldn’t go to UK as planned from supposedly today to 9 June :( but oh well, I’m quite sure the trip will be carried out somehow, but it’s like super sian lor :( oh well. We’re probably heading off to somewhere in Malaysia for a road trip, so that should be exciting :)

So that’s all for now! There is quite some planning to do for quite a number of things, so… I’ll let you know soon enough what they’re all about (if I remember to blog about them in the first place).
